Wedding Invites

I was really happy when my sister and my future brother-in-law announced that they were getting married. I was really excited when they asked me to design their wedding invitations. I felt that Lino printing would be a good solution as it really gives each invitation a handmade and therefore sentimental feel to them.

I trailed the internet for inspiration and I sent some ideas to them. I found I had to take some control over the design aspect as they weren't even sure on a colour scheme at the time. They really liked a 'Til death do us Part' design I showed them.  Their wedding is in October so this theme suited. They wanted quirky and light hearted. I then set about creating my own version of 'Til death do us Part' lino print with happy Mexican skulls.

My sisters really into her 'bling' so added some cute clear gems. Whilst the gems were self adhesive, I used super glue to stick them on as, if they fall off, they go from bling to tacky very quickly!

My sister wants red roses at her wedding. Which made designing the RSVP's much simpler. I used a coral red as this complemented the turquoise tone of the blue invitations.  I chose a sailor jerry type design for the roses as felt that this would blend the more traditional flowers with the quirky skull invitations.

I knew my sister prefers silver to gold so I made a silver collar to keep the invitation along with their RSVP together. I wanted their wedding invitation to feel weighty and like someone had spent a lot of time and loved creating them :-) So I added a heart shaped lock inscribed, G, J and B (which is the first initials of her family) I threaded the lock through a beautiful scalloped lace ribbon bow with some 'fun' silver and skulls beads and of course some more bling across the collar.

Once I got the design sorted I repeated... A lot Voila xx
